Shelbourne v G advertising


We have praised the g hotel radio advertising before, but when you hear the new Shelbourne radio ad you are tempted to praise the former again!


From the tone & timbre of the VO artist's enunciation, from the way he pronounces Shelbourne ("booorn", rather than the more familiar "burn"), from the use of phrases like "luxurious deluxe rooms" and "bountiful breakfast", and from the little "clip art" magic sound effect at the end (- bet it's called something like Stardust in the index of radio sound effects), you get the impression first, that not much talent was sought out and paid handsomely for the creating this ad; and second, that the Shelbourne feels there's still plently of posh punt around to appeal to in this cliche-filled, rather phoney style.
